sweet sarah

Linda Grimett aka Sweet Sarah, co-founder of High Society, South Africa’s Jewel of the Decks…

One of South Africa’s pioneering DJette’s, she began playing the opening set for a regular club night in one of South Africa’s small industrial towns, Richards Bay, playing sensual deep house for the arriving crowd. In 1999 Sweet Sarah co-founded High Society, the events organisation responsible for Kwa-Zulu Natal’s biggest and most glamorous events in the new millennium. With the quantity and quality of parties constantly improving, she soon had the town talking. 2003 saw Sweet Sarah saying goodbye to High Society and in 2004 she has started her own events company with her own regular club night called The Deep House Chronicles.

She has played at major events such as Yishi Fonk; The Boy and Girl next door; Summer Sessions; Durban Underground; Roger Goode’s Saturday Surgery; Mark Gillman’s Vinyl Frontier & not forgetting playing as one of the guest DJ’s for The Heineken Found @ Thirst world tour, to name but a few. She plays regular radio slots on South African Radio Stations: Zuraida Jardine’s Decks-a-licious & Mark Gilman’s Vinyl Frontier on 5FM; East Coast Radio (her home town’s favourite Radio Station); Durban Youth Radio and Craig De Sousa’s show on Good Hope FM. She has also played along side international DJ’s Jo Maracus; DJ AlleyCat; Paul Short; Erhan Sengenc; Funkstar de Luxe; DJ Rasoul; Luigi Rosi; Alan Thompson; Energy Dai; DJ Vadim; & Alan X.

Love and light

mizz julz

Don't be fooled by her tiny stature. This blond bombshell will blow you away with her hard house sounds. Defining her music as UK Hard House, Miz Julz is a new face on the scene but has the talent to make it huge. Starting as a resident on the downstairs dance floor at ESP, her dedication, hard work and determined attitude has taken her this far and promises to take her further.

the bishop

The Bishop has been spinning the wheels of steel with his own unique style of Hard House and Hard Trance for the past couple of years. Although his chosen/preferred style of music is more underground, he is versatile and has experimented with other genres of music as well.

Starting off his still growing talent with the bare necessities, he has worked through many hours of blood, sweat and tears. Through sheer determination, he has come to learn and appreciate the fine art of mixing music with the help of his mentors. (Nelson, Leonard, Kriz and Mizz Julz). Pete is also a member of the Technics DJ Mix Club.

Juggling time between his full time career as a Paramedic and as an aspiring DJ with a passion for music, he is known for being both energetic and lively behind the Decks as well as on the Dance Floor. Pete has unleashed his talent on Dance floors both in Gauteng and Mphumalanga, having played at E.S.P. (Downstairs) and made guest appearances at Slippery 'n' Wet (Nexus), Club ICON (Witbank), Virgin Teen (Anti Drug) bash at Splash. He has a knack to draw you into his world, keep you there and get your body gyrating, almost always leaving the crowd at his feet and satisfied.

His drive being: Shut-up and Dance.

adam styles

Adam Styles' popularity in the underground circle of the Johannesburg dance scene has led to him being considered amongst the most consistent of quality DJ's. He has been behind the decks for 5 years, having held residencies at clubs such as Delight and played at dance events such as Ms Suspenders presented by Mr Spencer Magazine and other independent underground events. His no-frills approach has earned him a reputation for pushing the crowd to their limits with his driving hard trance, topped up with a good dose of intelligent hard house.

devi-d

Devi-D started his DJ career in November 2001 in Reload (Gay Heartlend) and then became a resident DJ at Club Venom playing alongside Greg Kelly and DJ Ice since November 2002.

His style is mixing maximum overdrive trance with hardstyle / hard trance to drive the crowd into a frenzy. He is a laid back and open minded person – your general party animal!! Devi-D recently entered the DJ Wars competition held at the Coloddeum in Boksburg and was chosen as one of the few to go through to the semi finals to be held soon. Once you listen to his set, you will notice that he has a great passion for music. Don't miss out on this one!!!

father jon

Lift your spirits to the celestial sounds of Father Jon, and praise the pumping progression of house!

He's been mixing since '96, and has stayed true to his particular mature blend of progressive house and trance. Most of his party experience comes from throwing his own hedonistic little affairs. Remember those naughty little house parties once a month in Westdene when, under the guise of Virtual Underground, he regularly turned his house into a sneaky club, lasers and all!! For about a year in 2000, he rocked the Horror Cafe' with a range of wicked 'Private Collection' parties.

After a year's sabbatical in the mountains, he's am back to seduce your senses with the sweet sacrament of sound. Mass has begun!!
